Activity started soon after 8am with various rolling stock being moved out of the way to allow "Alfred" and "Judy" to be extracted from the Workshops. Alfred is currently having a boiler overhaul and was out first to allow the saddle tank to be lifted on. Judy was moved out under the workshop canopy and the boiler and tank filled with water. A warming fire was lit and the temperature raised for the first time since 1968. Boiler pressure was raised to about 40psi with no leaks found. Paint was still being applied to the loco the previous day and was still soft so Judy was moved back inside during the afternoon. |
